Feel Better, Live Longer and Look Younger By Dee Taylor “Sizzlin’ Seniors” Television and Radio
No doubt about it, we all want to feel better, live longer and look younger. I have never talked with anyone that wouldn’t say that. Today, I am going to ask you to evaluate your own health. No, I don’t mean to go see a doctor and have him/her evaluate your health, not just yet anyway, you can do it yourself as you read this article. Let’s begin with the dreaded word, colon…. that’s where real health begins and ends.
I have learned that the colon is like a vacuum cleaner bag for our bodies. It filters all our lives until it clogs up and doesn’t do its job anymore. A clogged up bag damages the motor, right? The clogged up motor allows the debris to pass into our delicate machinery, in this case, our bodies. It will also place a very heavy load upon the motor, which is trying to draw air through the dirty bag. Well, who doesn’t know that? However, did you really know it when we are talking about the complex machinery called our bodies? This simple bit of knowledge comes from the pioneering nutritionist, Dr. Bernard Jensen.
Now listen to the advice Dr Jensen gives us. “You care about your health, sure you do, don’t we all? However, have you thought about what it means to add high-quality supplements to a body that is overtaxed and sluggish from toxic buildup? And where might that be? You guessed it, in the colon.”
Dr Jansen continues, “The job of the small and large intestines is to absorb nutrients from the food you eat. However, if impacted waste has clogged the intestinal walls, the body just pushes the well nutrients along and eliminates them. So what happens? Nutrients can’t be absorbed through layers of toxins and undigested food.” Dr Jensen says cheese, in particular, clings to the intestinal walls like flypaper catching food particles, which lodge and putrefy in the hardened surface. Imagine that!
The fact that constipation is a prevalent problem for our aging population compounds the danger of internal toxins. With constipation, disease can exist. The main culprits are sedentary lifestyles (no exercise), not drinking enough water and a low fiber diet. (Oh no, not that again!) Other causes of constipation can be emotional and mental distress, medications or mechanical obstructions that may require surgery. (Check with your physician, if this is what is happening with you.)
How do you feel when your body needs detoxification? You will feel foggy, your belly is bloated, your breath smells bad and you may be retaining too much water. You may feel slothful, and perhaps you have headaches, joint pain, and recurrent respiratory problems, back pain, allergy symptoms, insomnia, mood changes and even food allergies. Everyday complaints, wouldn’t you say? This may be something that we need to think about, right?
Your body may be trying to tell you something, so pay attention. It is whining for a reason. Our bodies are a miraculous piece of machinery and when conditions like Arthritis, constipation, hemorrhoids, sinus congestion, ulcers, psoriasis and acne start appearing in your body, they may also indicate the need for detoxification. However, the most common symptom will be lack of energy, according to Dr. Jensen’s report.
So, what is detoxification? Detoxification is a relative term. Anything that sports elimination helps us detoxify. I emphasize once again, much constipation in the older population is due to dehydration and just drinking an extra quart of water a day will usually help your body eliminate more toxins naturally. It really is that simple. Drink more water.
What will occur if I begin working at detoxing myself to guarantee good health? First, you must know that detoxification is the body’s natural process of neutralizing toxins via the liver, the kidneys, the urine, the feces, exhalation and perspiration. Secondly, keep in mind that modern life as we know it, has created within our bodies a chemical cocktail derived from industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, heavy metals, and the residues of pharmaceutical drugs, and even legal drugs like alcohol, tobacco and caffeine. When you make the decision to cleanse your body and detoxify it of old wastes, excess mucus and congestion, you create a fertile environment for the healthy nutritional support only you can give it.
Now, if you have read this far, you may have just given yourself a health check up with this bit of information and may have committed to a healthier lifestyle too by taking care of yourself, assuring good health for your body and your colon in particular.
Now it is time to drive out to the local health food store, show them this information, and ask them to help you with your own health checkup today. From this day forward, make every penny you spend on your nutritional supplements (I take plenty of them myself) really count. Incorporate regular colon cleansing into your health program and feel secure in the knowledge that you are keeping your whole body clean, light and free of disease. In addition, don’t forget to take a walk everyday, because exercise counts too. I am willing to bet you will find you will feel better, live longer, and look a whole lot younger then you did before. It’s worth a try, isn’t it?
