Your Voice of Choice for 50+ Mature Adults ******************************** "Sizzlin' Seniors" Reaches for Next Goal: The graying of Texas will have profound implications for all aspects of society. With a large Chinese and Hispanic population of elders, more than the United States as a whole, Texas is pioneering a model for meeting the challenges of a huge demographic change in the very near future. With this in mind, Prime Time Productions, Inc. is reaching for our next goal and endeavoring to take our community service programming Statewide in the Great State of Texas. We are currently talking with the commercial television Texas Cable News Station (TXCN), owned and operated by Belo Corporation of Dallas, Texas. We are now a 5-time award winning program for people over 50 and we are now poised for commercial television statewide. Our show's title will change to a name more market driven when we begin statewide television. We have named it "Your Prime Time" with a "Sizzlin' Seniors" segment within the programming to help keep our current market identity. ************************************ Prime Time Productions, Inc. Wins 2001 National Awards Prime Time Productions, Inc. which is the production company for "Sizzlin' Seniors" and "Your Prime Time" senior programming has won two national awards this year. The "2001 Communicator Award" and the "2001 Videographer Award." Both these awards, judged by our industry peers, are given recognition to programming that exceeds the industry standards in production and communication skills. We now have one local award and 4 national awards. We are working hard and are proud to continue to meet these standards as we go into our 5th year of television production for 50+ maturing adults facing decisions in their retirement. ************************************ New Reporting Staff for 2001 Since the beginning of the year 2001 we have added some new faces to our talented reporting staff to bring you the very best information as it becomes available. They are as follows: Joesph Godat, M.D. Since health is the #1 concern for all our viewers over 50, Dr. Godat is bringing his years of expertise in the medical field to our programming. At 70 he continues to practice and does surgery everyday at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He is a writer of several medical books and is a lecturer on women's issues. He serves on Parkland Hospital's Board of Directors in Dallas, Texas. He is also a member of the Regional Board for Pfizer's Corporation, a major pharmaceutical company. Alex Burton, Television and radio personality Bringing his own conclusions to our programming, Alex is well known in the Dallas, Texas area with a voice that has been heard for 48 years on television and radio in Dallas, Texas. Alex is presenting an "Andy Rooney" format for us with a voice of concern in his Infinite Variety segment, and of course "his opinions are his own." He adds that extra flavor for mixed viewing. You won't want to miss Alex, he will give you food for thought. Bill Quinn, Financial Planner With financial issues on baby boomer's minds, we have asked Bill Quinn to report on money and what to do with it as we age. Bill spent his career with large insurance companies, such as New York Life, and has been trained in investment planning by Merrill Lynch Financial Services. He has conducted professional seminars and conferences to keep abreast of the ever-changing laws and compliance requirements of the State of Texas and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Bill will continue on this path by bringing his financial expertise to our show. He is a professional who knows what he is talking about and makes a great professional presentation that the ordinary person can understand. Michael Durkin It has been reported by AARP that more and more retirees are choosing to stay in the workforce for whatever reason. Michael Durkin is currently the Field Coordinator for the National Older Worker Career Center for the Southern Region of the United States. He was with AARP for many years in State and Community Operations. Michael will keep us abreast of the 50+ market with opportunities for this population to find work after retirement from their careers. He has a background in media and public relations. ************************************** Prime Time Productions, Inc. is a non-profit organization and is continuing to look for grants that will help us take our programming nationwide through syndication. This is a very time consuming task, and an on-going one. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, we are a new idea and so it will take innovative thinkers within foundations to see the long-range impact this model project will have. We currently have a grant from the North Central Area on Aging which will help us purchase camera equipment for off-site projects to include in our programming. A couple other foundations are taking a serious look at our model project and the education and information we are giving the 50+ community. As a non-profit, we are seeking help from the community volunteers to assist us in our grant search. *************************************** As 10,000 baby boomers are turning 55 daily this year, we are meeting with a local radio station in Dallas, Texas in August 2001 regarding a senior talk show to cross educate our 50+ audience and raise our visibility in that market. This will be done with a call- in- line and will give us a good feel for what our demographics concerns are to help us develop our programming for television and also our web site. ************************************* Our web site is currently under construction. It will be known as www.your primetime.com. Again it will cross educate our listeners and it will be designed like our television and radio show, to educate people about how to live healthier more productive lives as they age. Design Texas Studios are designing the site. They are located at the Sammons Center for Arts in Dallas, Texas. ************************************* Speaking to S.A.I.L. Group at CCCC College in Plano, TX. As part of our on-going public relations, I often speak at community organizations. On August 9th, I have been invited to speak to the Collin County Community College senior group called S.A.I.L. This is a group affiliated with Elderhostel Institute Network. The group consists of approximately 250 members. ************************************** Recognition Given By AARP Volunteer Spotlight As a volunteer for AARP as their Media Specialist in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex, recognition has been given to our efforts to serve the 50+ community with the July/August issue of the "AARP Connections" Newsletter out of Washington, D.C. As Executive Director of our active adults programming, I was interviewed and then featured in the Volunteer Spotlight. I have enclosed this article for your review. This will give you a little insight of me personally. ************************************** We continue to hear positive things from our viewers in letters, e-mails and on the streets of our community. They are saying,"This is a much-needed program, don't stop doing it whatever you do. Your information is so good and timely." So we remain encouraged to keep on keeping on. We would love to hear from you too. You will find our e-mail, fax and address on the front page of this Newsletter. That is our update for this Edition. If you have any input or questions that would be helpful to our model project just drop us a line. Thank you for your continued support in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of retired, active adults in Texas. Until next time, thanks for watching your voice of choice, Prime Time Productions, Inc. ("Sizzlin' Seniors"), I am Dee Taylor, Executive Producer
