Nat’l Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare in Washington, D.C. is reporting that the forces behind privatization of SS are advancing their agenda with powerful support.

This is something to think about, because it boils down to asking yourself, “Should full SS and Medicare benefits be traded for establishing risky retirement accounts? Or, should you just ignore them and take your chances, hoping the next Congress will do the same?” Once the 109th Congress convenes in January 2005, the full force of the privatization agenda will be at work. Huge federal deficits looming while touting the answer as the “risk free” cure for projected shortfalls in SS that may lie on the horizon. Where do you stand? Let your Congressman/woman know!

Aging Facts

Start A New Habit: Just get moving. Taking action will create the momentum you will need to keep going.

  • Take baby steps. Begin with 10 minutes of exercise daily. If you are in a reading slump, read one chapter. Eating better is your goal, start with breakfast.
  • Be consistent. Any action is better than none! If you can’t do a whole workout, just do a few stretches. If you miss a day, don’t beat yourself up. Start fresh the next day.
  • Keep a log of your process. It will help to see it!
  • Reward yourself by getting a massage. Yes!
