Featuring "Sizzlin´ Seniors" Television and
"Your Prime Time with Dee Taylor" Radio Broadcasting
for the 50+ Baby Boomers, their families and their caregivers

Hello everyone:

Well, it has been a long time baby, as the saying goes. But believe me when I finish writing this quarterly newsletter, you will know that we have come a long way baby since our last newsletter in September 2002 but not without lots of hard work!

When you have finished reading through our newsletter for this quarter, I hope you will take a few minutes and let me hear from you with words of encouragement, either on my website Comments section: www.sizzlinsen.org or e-mail me at: sizzlinsen@aol.com or yourprimetime@aol.com. So, fasten your seatbelts and here we go!

" Your Prime Time with Dee Taylor Radio Broadcasting on Air December 2002- YES! ************************************************************************

I reported to you in my September 2002 Newsletter that I met with KAAM Legends radio and that I had presented a promo to them for our broadcast. They accepted our programming and I signed a contract with them. I felt I could easily raise the money to go on air.

I began our marketing plan in November 2002 and contracted our first advertiser, Alert Response Systems of Lewisville, Texas. Spud Newton, bless him, wanted to help me get this show on the road and so he contracted for 6 months. Armed with that one contract and the belief that others would fall in line, I broadcast my first radio show on December 21, 2002 with some favor from KAAM billing me in escalation phases, I began broadcasting on KAAM Saturdays at 2pm on December 21, 2002.

I had a lot to learn about marketing since I had never done marketing before and it has been a tough lesson for me. However, in December 2002 AARP sent me some dollars that were left over for the year and told me to put it towards our new radio broadcast. So, by December 2002 I had enough funds to see me through until June 2003.

Then came reality- Strike one: Because 9/11 happened in 2001, all grant doors were closed to a non-profits like Prime Time Productions, Inc. And since 9/11 had occurred just one year before, I started to market for advertisers, the market was still very, very tight. And worse of all, strike two: I found I had started my marketing efforts after all the corporate 2003 budgets were finalized. Then in 2003 as I continued to market, strike three hit me with the commencing of the War in Iraq! I don't need to tell you that nothing short of a miracle would allow me to stay on radio after May 2003. I managed to get one advertiser to believe in me, Alert Response Systems of Lewisville, Texas. The owner, Spud Newton, has stayed with me ever since. I have also used my personal funds to keep us on air to date.

Well, miracles do happen. I did get another advertiser, Dallas Bath Systems and with promises from other corporations that they would come on board by July. Dallas Bath only stayed on air for two months and has not fulfilled his contract to date.

So, after I talked with the radio station manager, it seemed the best thing for me to do was to cut back my air time and day and go for broadcasting on a weekday primetime nights, Wednesday at 6:30pm — at least until the new budgets were completed and some of the promises made to me were fulfilled. This we did, effective June 18, 2003. I am still reaching 6.2 million people and in a way I am testing the waters on Wednesday evenings versus Saturday at 2pm. So, time will tell.

Stay tuned, as they say in radio. I have no idea what the future will bring, but I will not give up because my producer told me I had the best programming on the air at KAAM with more and better content then any of the other programs aired. So, they have encouraged me to continue on.

"Sizzlin' Seniors Television Broadcasting still going strong!
---------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, I am also still broadcasting our senior programming underwritten by Time Warner Television twice a month. I have produced some exciting broadcasts for our senior show in 2003 with many celebrities on radio and television such as Kathryn Crosby, Hank Williams, Ebby Halliday and others. Writing, producing and hosting both radio and television is a full time job for anyone and add marketing to the mix, well…. you got the picture…it is more than one gal my age can do! But I am not giving up! Someone will come along to help me.

I am forever grateful for the underwriting of this program by Time Warner. But I want to make you aware that another lady in Dallas has started a senior program as written in the "Dallas Observer" she was called the "Oprah" of the senior market. You might want to check her out on DCTV sometime. Competition is good, don't you think? And I guess copying is the greatest form of flattery anyone can have! At least I believe so.

THIS MONTH'S ACTIVITY:

Due to lack of funds I felt it was time for us to have a fund-raiser. So, in August I began sending out fund-raising letters. We are getting a "trickle in" response to these letters. I am trying to send out (10) a day as time allows and I have no help. It is my heart's desire that seniors and their families will respond even with $1.00! It will all help keep the radio show on air.

Mary Frances Hansen and Richard Barry, cruise line entertainers, have volunteered to do a one-hour fund-raising show for us. So mark your calendars, on Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Plaza Theatre, 521 W. State St, Garland, TX. Doors will open at 7:30pm and the tickets are very reasonable at $10.00 a piece. Senior News Source and KAAM Radio are sponsoring the event. Senior News Source has donated a round trip ticket for two(2) on AMTRAK to Chicago and KAAM will donate our free "goodie bags." You can get your ticket in advance by calling 972-395-2572 or go on line at RichardBarryProductions.com. Free Parking is available. We only have 350 seats in the theatre, so you will want to get your tickets early.

I am busier then a one-armed paperhanger, as the saying goes. But I have been invited to become a member of the Area Agency on Aging/Aging Texas Well Community Planning Panel. AARP has invited me to have lunch with Senator Steve Woolen at the Crest Club this month; I will be working at the Fraud Conference this month; attending Networking Marketing meetings; meeting with Cooper Research; looking for marketing opportunities by attending the Dallas Convention Center events; attending the Dallas AARP Community Action team meetings; and have been invited by State Rep Helen Giddings to attend a grand opening of a retirement facility in Duncanville, TX.

PROTECT TRADITIONAL MEDICARE AND OPPOSE THE PREMIUM SUPPORT PROVISION PROPOSED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
*********************************************************

The House of Representatives is moving in the right direction by considering legislation to add a prescription drug benefit to Medicare! But the House of Representations is moving in the wrong direction by including a provision that would penalize older Americans who want to stay in traditional Medicare by making it more expensive to do so!

Beginning in 2010, the bill will change the way the traditional Medicare fee-for-service program is treated under a so called "premium support" approach. In 2010, if you live in a county where there are two or more Medicare managed care plans - but you want to stay in the traditional Medicare program so that you can choose your doctor and hospital - you will likely have to pay a much higher Medicare premium!

Tell your Member of Congress that you want the traditional Medicare program protected and to oppose the "premium support" provision of the House Bill. CALL TODAY: 1-800-294-8069. They are your dollars and your vote that puts them in office! Tell them what you want.

THE SPOTLIGHT IS ON YOU SPUD NEWTON OF ALERT RESPONSE SYSTEMS IN LEWISVILLE.

Spud Newton said "Yes" immediately when I ask him to support what I was doing for seniors on my radio program. He didn't hesitate one minute and I appreciate his confidence in me and what I am trying to do for our aging population. Thank you Spud, you have a very special heart for the aging population and it shows because you put your money where your mouth is and I like that in a man!

Spud has a wonderful alarm system, pill dispensing system and also a reminder system for those who are home alone. It was a good marriage for our marketing plans and Spud is an astute businessman and picked up on that right away. Alert Response Systems has just renewed their radio advertising contract with me for another 6 months, and so his faith stands firm in me and I wanted to shine the spotlight on him for his encouragement to help me continue to "keep on keeping on" with the passion I have in my heart to help others…. just as he does! Thank you Spud and all the great of gals who take care of your customers too. You are the best. You can reach "Alert Response Systems" by calling: 972-318-0161 to help fill your needs too!

LONGER, HEALTHIER LIVES AT RISK FROM PERSONAL BEHAVIOR AND FAILURES IN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, SAYS AARP

Americans age 50+ have the chance to capitalize on wonderful advances in longevity. But they need a chain of dominoes to fall right - initial good health, adequate health care coverage, affordable quality care that's easy to access and a system that encourages informed decision making, says AARP CEO, Bill Novelli. "Missing one of these dominoes puts a person's - and a generation's - whole health security at risk,"

Think on that and get involved today! We all can make a difference in someone's life!
