To My Second Daughter

By Dee Taylor

As a baby, you loved to snuggle to my breast,
And I would dress and undress you like a doll.

As a child, you were pretty as a picture, as sweet as you
Could be. As you hid behind my skirt leg, you delighted
Everyone who met you with your shy and delicate
Expressions.

As a girl, you made no demands and were always
Looking after your "little" brother and sister.
You were definitely a daddy's girl.

As a little sister, you were a constant companion - like
A puppy dog you were her shadow- looking up
To her for protection and crying when she cried.

As a teenager, you fought to leave the nest to be and do what
You thought was best for you, even though your wings were
Not ready for the flight.

As a mother, you are all I expected - the best- always
Giving of yourself to your sons - your gifts from God.

As a daughter, you are a joy, and I am so proud of the
Fight you fought and all that you have become for
Jesus and yourself.

As a woman, you are God's vessel…you have a story to
Tell for Him. I now give you back to Him. Remember
always, He loved you enough to die for you. You surely
are among the most precious of all His children.

Thank you for being my daughter. I love you.

Mom
